Craig, Parker meet tonight for second
That wonít, however, spoil what figures to be another exciting match.
Unbeaten Sun Prairie (8-0) has clinched the Big Eight dual meet title, with the twice-beaten Cougars and Vikings battling for second.
Both city schools are strong at the same weight classes, while the winner may come down to which team stays off its back.
Craig High is led by unbeaten and defending WIAA Division 1 champion Siven Furseth. The senior is 30-0 this season and will wrestle at 135 tonight.
Furseth is one of four seniors for the Cougars who are a combined 114-9. Senior Jamie Kumlien is 28-3 at 119, Kyle Upmann is 28-3 at 125, and Chris Pierce is 28-3 at 130.
The feature match of the night figures to be at 130. Parkerís Brennan Casey-Schmidt, a senior, will put his 31-4 record up against Pierce.
At 125, Parker senior Adam Cavey is 26-8 and a former Big Eight champion.
Parker senior Cody Colson is 22-7 on the season at 285, including an 8-0 record in the Big Eight. Colsonís first-period pin gave Parker a 39-36 win in last yearís down-to-the-wire match.
The Vikings have battled a numbers problem all season but hope to fill all 14 weight classes tonight.
Craig had a chance to win the conference dual meet title but suffered close losses to Sun Prairie and Beloit Memorial at last Saturdayís Big Eight duals.
The Cougars are stacked at the lower weights, but much like the Vikings, vulnerable at the middle and upper weights.
Tonightís match is scheduled to begin at 7.
