UW-Rock sweeps UW-Washington, men win

— UW-Rock County exploded for a 101-42 victory over host UW-Washington in Wisconsin Collegiate Conference women’s basketball Wednesday.

All six Rattlers scored in double figures to set a school scoring record.


Whitney Oliver scored 22 points, Sabrina Suiter-Mitchell added 20 points and Lindsey Oliver scored 18 points. April Wellnitz added 17 points, while Jasmine Koch and Bekah Gibson scored 12 points apiece.


UW-Rock (9-4, 10-8) grabbed 63 rebounds to UW-Washington’s 29. The Rattlers made 38 of 92 field goal attempts, including 12 three-point baskets.

UW-Rock men win

UW-Rock County pounded host UW-Washington in the second half for a 74-61 victory in nonconference men’s college basketball Wednesday.


After playing to a 36-36 tie in the first half, the Rattlers (8-11) switched to a pressure defense that led to a 38-25 second half advantage and the victory.


Jordan Young and Jordan Conway scored 10 points apiece in the second half to spark the Rattlers. Conway finished with a game-high 18 points, while Young and Jon Condon scored 15 points apiece.


UW-Rock travels to UW-Barron this Satuday for a 1 p.m. game.
