The Beloit School Board is considering reconfiguring the elementary school grades under what's known as the SAGE Model.

Superintendent Milt Thompson says the plan would close two elementary schools, reconfigure six schools to Grades K-3, use SAGE funding to keep low student to teacher ratios, reconfigure four schools to Grades 4-5, and move Grade K4 to community sites. Reasons for the change include uncertainty in state funding, and better use of smaller, older school buildings.
