Panthers defeat Comets, other scores

Wilmot High School took advantage of foul trouble on Delavan-Darien’s Alana Cesarz to defeat the visiting Comets in Southern Lakes girls basketball Tuesday night.


The host Panthers built a 38-25 lead through three quarters to down Delavan-Darien, 56-46.


Sophomore Kaytlyn Eidson drilled five three-pointers en route to a 17-point game for the Panthers (6-8, 2-5). Sarah Vozel added 11.


Cesarz, the Comets’ 6-foot-2 senior standout, saw limited action in the first half due to foul problems and had points 10 points entering the final quarter. She finished with 22.


Delavan-Darien fell to 7-6, 3-4.

Badger (8-5, 4-2) trailed by one at half but took control with an 18-7 advantage in the third quarter.

Allison White and Grace Ames had 14 points apiece to pace the Elks (6-8, 3-3), who withstood Central’s nine three-point goals.


Abbie Reeves had a game-high 16 points, including four three-point goals, for the Falcons (6-7, 2-4).

(12-1, 6-0) remained unbeaten in the Southern Lakes despite 12 three-point baskets by the second-place Demons.


Danielle Mutchie had 19 points to lead Union Grove, while Danielle Evert and Cassi McCarthy had 16 points each for Burlington (5-7, 4-2).
