East Troy rolls behind Dodge, other scores

Sophomore Nate Dodge scored 10 of his 18 points in the first half to lead East Troy past host Edgerton, 48-26, in a Rock Valley Conference North boys basketball game Tuesday night.


East Troy, No. 4 in the AP Division 3 state ratings, went to 9-0 in the conference and 13-1 overall.


The Trojans shut out Edgerton in the second quarter to build a 25-9 lead. The Crimson Tide did not threaten after that.


Alex Prahl scored 11 points, and Myles Olsen added 10 in the victory.


Tyler Dobratz had eight points for Edgerton (4-5, 7-8).

-- Whitewater 43, Evansville 42—Ryan Owen made the second of two free throws with 10 seconds left to give the Whippets a Rock Valley North win over visiting Evansville.


Whitewater led by six in the final quarter, but the Blue Devils tied the game on a three-point play by Casey Moseley with about 30 seconds left.


Braidon Voss led Whitewater (4-11, 3-7) with 14 points. Clark Zinzow added 11 as the Whippets notched their second straight victory for their first winning season under first-year coach Dan Gnatzig.


Moseley led Evansville (7-6, 5-4) with 15 points. Dylan


Erickson and Adam Stamm each added 10.

-- McFarland 60, Jefferson 35—McFarland built a 31-13 lead by halftime and cruised to a Rock Valley North win that kept the Spartans (11-4, 8-1) a game behind East Troy.


Brett Kaether scored nine points, and Tyler Wedel had seven points in the second quarter to lead the Spartans to the halftime advantage. Kaether finished with 15 points, and Wedel added 13.


James Runde added 12 points for McFarland. Max McGowan led the Eagles (6-3,


7-7) with seven points.

-- Brodhead 76, Parkview 25—J.J. Panoske put on a one-man show Tuesday night.


The Brodhead senior and UW-Milwaukee recruit scored 40 points to lead the Cardinals (7-7, 5-4) to a convincing Rock Valley South win over Orfordville Parkview (1-11, 0-9).


Panoske got all of his points in the first three quarters, including 24 in the first half when the Cardinals built a 45-14 lead.

-- Clinton 84, Turner 56—Cody Risseeuw scored nine of his 26 points in the first quarter give the first-place Cougars a 21-16 lead as they pushed their Rock Valley South record to 8-1 and maintained a three-game lead.


Clinton (12-2) built a 45-28 lead in the first half and put the game out of reach with a 29-12 advantage over Turner (6-8,


4-5) in the third quarter.


Aaron Roth added 12 points for Clinton, while teammates Justin Langley and Jalen McMartin scored 10 apiece. Tevien Pinckney had 22 for Turner, and Micah Larson added 13.

-- Palmyra-Eagle 54, Big Foot 42—The host Panthers pulled away from visiting Walworth Big Foot in the fourth quarter, giving them two Rock Valley wins in a season for the first time since 2005-06 season.


Kevin McGivern had 16 points to lead Palmyra-Eagle (4-9, 2-7), which outscored Big Foot 18-9 in the fourth.


Jordan Gottman paced the Chiefs (2-12, 1-8) with 11 points.
