— Rachel Albright, 23, Whitewater, was placed on two years probation and ordered to undertake counseling after pleading guilty earlier this week to a misdemeanor child neglect charge that she starved her newborn infant.

Police and a representative of the Walworth County Department of Human Services met with Albright in April to talk about the infantís lack of growth.

The mother claimed at the meeting that she was feeding the infant, who was less than 3 months old at the time, about six ounces of formula every three to four hours, according to a criminal complaint.

The infant was taken for examination at a hospital, and the diagnosis was that the baby was being underfed. Albright expressed concern that regular feedings would make the child fat, according to the criminal complaint. Albright with supervision is now caring for her child.
