Fast start ignites Lakeside victory, other scores

Lakeside Lutheran High School’s boys basketball team was on fire from the start Thursday night.


The Warriors jumped to a 20-9 lead in the first quarter, went on a 28-10 rampage in the second period and finished with a 77-41 victory over visiting Columbus to grab the undisputed Capitol North lead.


Lakeside improved to 11-1 for the season and moved a game ahead in the conference race at 4-1.


Jake Jarnigo had 12 points to pace Lakeside’s 14 scorers. Sam Kuehl and Craig Wilke followed with 11 apiece, while Ryan Daumann got game honors with 17 for Columbus (3-8, 0-5).

Trailways South

Lawrence Crement scored 10 of his 14 points in the first quarter, and Williams Bay went on to down visiting Dodgeland, 68-41, in a Trailways South Conference boys basketball victory Thursday night.


Crement’s first-quarter production helped the Bulldogs build a 28-6 lead. Marcos Quiles added 11 points as the Bulldogs improved to 4-2 in the conference and 4-8 overall.


Dodgeland fell to 2-4, 2-11.

Indian Trails

Four players scored in double figures to lead undefeated Wisconsin School for the Deaf to a 54-37 victory at Union Grove Christian in a Indian Trails Conference Gold Division boys basketball game Thursday night.


Taylor Koss and Cody Gunnon each scored 12 points, while Jose Castillo and Tony Davis each had 10 as WSD went to 7-0 in the conference and 11-0 overall.


Nick Emond led Union Grove Christian (2-4, 3-10) with 14 points.
