Clinton dents Jefferson’s hopes, other scores

Clinton High’s boys basketball team helped itself in the Rock Valley South and took a toll on Jefferson’s North Division title hopes Thursday night.


With a 61-46 crossover victory at Jefferson, the Cougars (10-2, 7-1) increased their division lead to three games and dropped the Eagles (7-6, 6-2) two games behind East Troy in the North.


Scott Langley scored 20 points, and Ross Oldenburg added 17 to lead Clinton’s domination of Jefferson.


Tyler Tabor scored 17 points for Jefferson (7-6, 6-2).

-- Edgerton 44, Palmyra-Eagle 41—Edgerton (7-7, 4-4) scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter, rallying from a five-point deficit after three periods, to defeat visiting Palmyra-Eagle (3-9, 1-7) in a Rock Valley crossover game.


Zach Nelson scored seven of his 17 points in the final period.


Tyler Dobratz added 12 points for Edgerton.


Kevin McGivern scored 12 points and Brian Kelly added 10 for Palmyra-Eagle.

-- Evansville 61, Parkview 39—Dylan Erickson and Adam Stamm put Evansville in control quickly as the Blue Devils (7-5, 5-3) dominated a Rock Valley crossover game.


Erickson had a seven-point first period, and Stamm hit a pair of three-point goals as Evansville took a 24-4 lead.


Stamm scored a game-high 17 points, including three of his team’s five three-point goals, and Erickson finished with 13 points. Danny Walczak had 11 for Evansville, and Casey Moseley added 10. Kyle Woodworth led Parkview (1-10, 0-8) with 10.

Tanner Plomb led the way with 20 points, including four three-point goals, as East Troy raced to a 24-6 lead in the first quarter and never let up.


Nate Dodge added 17 points, and Brett Prahl added 10 for East Troy.


Senior guard Tevien Pinckney led Turner with 24 points.
