Jets fall in overtime

EAST LANSING, MICH.


The Motor City Metal Jackets defeated the visiting Janesville Jets, 4-3, in overtime Saturday in NAHL play.


The victory snapped a five-game losing streak to the Jets.


The Metal Jackets’ R.J. Kleiman scored a hat trick, including the winning goal in overtime.


Ross Mauermann, a Janesville Parker High School graduate, scored the Jets’ first goal at 15:21 of the first period to tie the game, 1-1.


The Jets scored twice in the third period to send the game into overtime. The Jets’ Alex Brooks scored on a power play at 19:06 to the game 3-3 in regulation.


Janesville host Springfield, Ill., this Friday and Saturday at the Janesville Ice Skating Center.
