Whitewater men down Eau Claire

— UW-Whitewater got off to a fast start to defeat UW-Eau Claire, 74-62, in WIAC men’s basketball Saturday.

The victory is Whitewater’s eighth in the last nine games. The Warhawks improve to 4-3 in the WIAC and 11-5 overall. Eau Claire falls to 3-4 and 8-7.


The Warhawks went on a


23-5 run in the first quarter for a 25-14 lead. Whitewater led


35-28 at the half.


The Warhawks maintained their lead, making 15 of 16 free throws to Eau Claire’s 5 of 6.


Whitewater’s Chris Davis scored a game-high 29 points. Antone Byrd added 16 points and Alex Edmunds had 14.
