Badger Crossover Challenge



Michael Barrett took charge Friday night for Monroe High School’s unbeaten boys basketball team.


The senior guard scored 25 points as the Cheesemakers cruised past visiting Fort Atkinson, 56-34, in a Badger South game.


Monroe, No. 2 in the AP Division 2, improved to 11-0 for the season and stayed a game ahead of Madison Edgewood at 6-0 in the South.


Bryan Tordoff added 16 points for the Cheesemakers, while Tanner Boos had nine to pace/ Fort, which fell to 2-4 in the conference and 5-9 for the season.

Zach Zweifel added 16 points as the Silver Eagles improved to 4-2 in the Badger and 8-3 overall.


Monona Grove took an 11-4 lead into the second quarter and maintained that advantage for much of the game.


Connor Kowalkowski scored 15 points, Ben Cleveland had 13, and Ryan Nyhagen added 10 for the Vikings, who fell to 0-6 in the Badger and 2-11 overall.

Milton led by two points after one quarter and trailed by just three, 20-17, at halftime. The Warriors outscored the Red Hawks 25-11 in the second half.
