— The Janesville Bluebirds bounced back in a big way Thursday night.

Mo McCrone had a hat trick, and Cody Iverson added a goal and two assists to lead Janesville’s high school boys co-op team to a 7-0 Big Eight Conference win over Madison West at the Janesville Ice Skating Center. The Bluebirds (9-4-1, 5-2-1) were coming off a 7-2 loss to Middleton on Tuesday night.

“It’s nice to bounce back because I wasn’t sure what to expect after Tuesday’s game,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “Most of our success tonight came from working hard and staying after it.”

Ron Lindgren scored the only goal of the first period on an assist from Iverson. The Bluebirds broke the game open with four goals in the second, including two from McCrone. The Janesville Craig senior capped off his hat trick with his third goal of the game at 9:26 of the third.

Tyler Lewis and Collin Cropp combined for the shutout, stopping seven shots between them.
