First-half lead stands for Badger, other scores

Lake Geneva Badger built a 10-point lead by halftime and maintained it in the second half to defeat Elkhorn, 50-40, in Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball Thursday night.


Emma Kopp scored 14 points, including three three-pointers, to lead four Badger players in double figures. Abby Ketchpaw added 12 points and Lana Wieseman and Karina Reeves had 11 apiece for the Badgers (7-4, 3-1).


Grace Ames scored 10 points to lead Elkhorn (5-7, 2-3).

-- Burlington 60, Delavan-Darien 53—Natalie Slupianowski had five field goals in the final quarter to help Burlington hold off host Delavan-Darien.


Slupianowski finished with 14 points as the Demons improved to 4-1 in the Southern Lakes and 5-5 overall.


Cassi McCarthy led Burlington with 16 points. Rachel Thomsen matched Slupianowski with 14 points.


Alana Cesarz led the Comets (6-4, 3-2) with 19 points, including two three-pointers. Sarah Rendon added 12 points.
