WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on legislation proposed by 45th Assembly Representative

RSS

45th Assembly District Representative Amy Loudenbeck of Clinton is drafting her first piece of legislation.

The Republican is working to establish Beloit as a new Development Opportunity Zone. Loudenbeck says the recently expired Development Opportunity Zone from 2001 was highly effective and leveraged more than $161 million in private investment and supported the creation of 786 new jobs.

The zone is a State of Wisconsin program for economically distressed areas, which provides tax credits to businesses for job creation and capital investment.
