— Craig Smith and Jordy Murray had a goal and assist each as Wisconsin beat Canisius 3-0 on Friday.

Smith and Murray scored in the third period as the Badgers (13-7-3) extended their lead over the Griffs (6-9-4).

Justin Schultz staked Wisconsin to a 1-0 lead late in the first period. That goal proved to be the game-winner.

Jake Gardiner assisted on the Schultz and Smith goals.

Scott Gudmandson made 18 saves to get the shutout. Canisius goalie Tony Capobianco made 37 stops, including 14 in the third period.

Canisius never had more than seven shots on goal in any period.
