Jets win second straight from Metal Jackets

— The Janesville Jets defeated Motor City, 3-1, on Saturday night to sweep a three-game North American Hockey League series.

The Jets (21-11) had won the previous two games, 5-0.


This time, Motor City (20-11) got on the board first with a second-period goal by Cody Wydo.


Janesville’s Connor McBride tied it with a power-play goal on an assist by Ross Mauermann at 6:56 of the second.


The Jets added third-period goals by Derek Jacobson and John Olen. Jacobson’s goal also came on a power play.


The Jets outshot the Metal Jackets, 28-25.


Janesville goaltender Tony Kujava stopped 24 of 25 shots to earn the victory.


The Jets next play a two-game series at Motor City on Friday and Saturday.
