Alana Cesarz scored 17 of her 27 points in the second half to help Delavan-Darien fend off visiting Waterford, 60-53, in a Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball game Friday.


Cesarz scored 11 points in the final quarter with a three-point basket, a pair of two-pointers and 4-of-4 free-throw shooting. The Comets went to 3-1 in the conference to jump into a second-place tie with Burlington. Delavan-Darien is 5-3 overall.


Sophomore Megan Jensen had 21 points, while Stephanie Rank added 12 for the Wolverines (0-5, 2-9).

Lana Wieseman led Badger with 12 points.
