The Janesville Craig and Janesville Parker gymnastics teams remain on a collision course in the Big Eight Conference.

Both city schools improved to 3-0 in the conference with wins Thursday.

Craig finished with 139.55 points to coast past visiting Madison West, while Parker’s depth was the difference in a 133.45-131.65 win over defending Big Eight champion Middleton.

Becky Schneider won all four events plus the all-around to lead the Cougars to the win.

“Our team score was better than I expected,” Craig High coach Jean Welch said. “Our girls are adding some more difficult moves to their routines and they really worked hard over the break.”

Parker’s only win came from Erika Whitson on floor exercise, but the team’s depth was enough to hold off the Cardinals.

Parker and Craig will both compete in Saturday’s Westosha Invitational.
