Janesville’s Campbell heads to Hall

— Pat Campbell of Janesville is one of five honorees slated for induction into the Wisconsin State Baseball League Hall of Fame on Jan. 29 in Sheboygan.

Campbell played 15 seasons for the Janesville Aces. He hit 320 in 380 games and ranked in the career top 10 in 13 categories, including hits, doubles, runs scored and runs batted in. Campbell batted .438 with 39 RBIs, 14 doubles and five home runs in 1997 for his best season.

As the Acesí catcher, Campbell led the league twice in fielding, including handling 1,270 chances without an error in 1996. The Aces posted a .632 winning percentage during Campbellís tenure, including two championships, 10 finishes in the top three and only one sub-500 season.

Campbell is a 1986 Janesville Craig High School graduate and was a four-year starting catcher at UW-La Crosse.

The 42 year-old Campbell is an sales account executive for Bliss Communicationís WCLO radio. Campbell lives in Janesville with his wife, Cari, and children Tyler, Brianna and Jacob.
