Trio arrested in thefts

— Janesville police arrested three people in connection with a series of thefts and a burglary on the city's south side.

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, the police responded to a series of thefts from vehicles and a burglary in the 1000 to 1200 blocks of Putnam Avenue, the 1100 block of Beloit Avenue and the 1000 block of Bingham Avenue.


The investigation lead police to a home in the 1000 block of Bingham Avenue. The residents initially denied being connected with the crimes.


The police obtained a search warrant and found several car stereos, GPS devices, electronics and rifles.


Some of the items have been claimed by their owners.


Zachary T. Menehan, 18, of Beloit and Justin Everett, 18, of Janesville each were arrested on two counts of party to theft, party to burglary and receiving stolen property.


Brian R. Olson, 20, of Janesville was arrested on two counts of party to theft, receiving stolen property and criminal damage to property.
