Milton girls control Mount Horeb

Milton High School’s girls basketball team pitched a shutout Friday night.


The Red Hawks, who share the Badger South lead, held Mount Horeb scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 48-29 nonconference win.


Milton (17-3) led 11-0 after one quarter and eventually led 26-7 at half.


Ashley Roherty had 12 points to lead the Red Hawks, while Liz Eide added 10.

? Fort Atkinson 45, Monroe 41—A 7-0 run in the fourth quarter carried Fort Atkinson past host Monroe in the Badger South.


The run gave Fort a 39-34 lead. The Cheesemakers cut the lead to two points several times, but they could not catch the Blackhawks.


Maddie Bare scored seven of her 12 points in the fourth quarter, including sinking a three-point basket to start Fort’s winning run. Lexie Weigand added 11 points for Fort (12-8, 5-6).


Kyleigh Sellnow scored 13 points to pace Monroe (10-10, 5-6). Teammates Brooke McBain and Abby Jacobson scored 10 points apiece.
