Cesarz propels Delavan-Darien over Wilmot

Alana Cesarz got loose in the second half to lead visiting Delavan-Darien High to a 55-47 victory over her former coach, Keiya Square, and Wilmot in Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball Friday.


The Comets clung to an 18-17 lead at the half. But Cesarz turned it up a notch in the second half, scoring 23 of her game-high 35 points.


The victory lifted Delavan-Darien to 7-6 in the Lakes and 11-9 overall. Wilmot fell to 6-7 and 10-10 overall.

? Westosha 46, Elkhorn 29—The Falcons (10-10, 5-7) hammered the Elks 20-4 in the fourth quarter to seal a Southern Lakes victory.


Faith Lois scored eight of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter for Westosha Central. Grace Ames scored all 13 of her points in the second half for Elkhorn (7-13, 4-8).

? Union Grove 47, Burlington 31—Danielle Mutchie scored 13 points, and Alyssa Thomas added 12 as champion Union Grove, No. 2 in the AP Division 2 state ratings, remained undefeated in the Southern Lakes with a victory at Burlington.


The Broncos (20-1, 13-0) led by only 21-17 at halftime, but used a 17-5 third quarter to take control.


Danielle Evert led all scorers with 16 points for the Demons (6-14, 5-8).
