Blues snap Jets' winning streak

— The Springfield Blues skipped past the Janesville Jets, 3-2, in NAHL play Saturday at the Janesville Ice Skating Center.

The Blues’ Gavin Tufte scored the winning goal at 4:52 of the third period to snap the Jets’ three-game winning streak.

Springfield held a 2-0 lead after the first period, but Janesville jumped back with goals from Janesville Parker High graduate Ross Mauermann and Chris Cattivera.

Mauermann became the Janesville Jets single-season scoring leader in Friday night’s 4-1 victory with 53 points. Mauermann passed Rui Encarnarcao’s 52 points last year. Ross also broke his own single season record for assists with 29.

The Jets (32-14-3) host Port Huron in their final regular-season two-game home stand beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
