Lakeside Lutheran overcame foul problems in the first half and a late Lake Mills surge to defeat the visiting L-Cats,

66-62, in a Capitol North boys basketball game Tuesday night.

The Warriors (20-1, 8-1) led 38-26 at halftime, despite limited playing time by senior Craig Wilke due to foul problems. Kyle Stelse stepped up to score eight of his 10 points in the second quarter, and Sam Kuehl added nine of his 14.

Lakeside scored the first five points of the third quarter to go up by 17 points, but the visitors gradually rallied but ran out of time, helped by Lakeside’s 2-of-10 free-throw shooting in the final quarter.

Jake Jarnigo led the Warriors with 15 points.

Joe Klocek led Lake Mills (17-4, 5-4) with 15 points. Dylan Smith-Cayo and Kellen Murphy each had 12.
