Second quarter sparks Comet win, other scores

The second quarter proved to be the difference Tuesday night for Delavan-Darien High School’s girls basketball team.


The Comets outscored visiting Burlington, 15-3, en route to a 58-36 Southern Lakes Conference win.


Delavan-Darien (10-9, 6-6) led 25-12 at half and was up by 19 after three quarters. Alana Cesarz had 22 points to pace the Comets, who dropped the Demons to 5-6 in the conference and 6-12 overall.

Lana Wieseman led three Badger players in double figures with 15 points, while Erin and Emily Schahczyenski had 14 points each for Elkhorn (7-12, 4-7).
