Hundreds of students from both Parker and Craig High Schools walk out during 6th hour Wednesday.

Students say they're protesting proposed teacher lay-offs and reductions in class offerings. Many students say anticipated class cuts will reduce their opportunities for earning early college credit, or even limit their college choices. Students marched their message to the Educational Services Center, complete with chants and picket signs.

School officials say the walk-out will be treated as an unexcused absence.
