— The Rock County Fury kept their season alive Thursday night thanks to a stellar defensive effort and the goaltending of Caitlyn Gusk.

Gusk picked up her seventh shutout win of the season to lift the area high school girls co-op hockey team to a 2-0 WIAA regional final win.

Rock County (13-9-1) will play top-seeded Capital City on Tuesday night.

Janesville Craig’s Haley Bayreuther had a goal and assist for the Fury, while Gusk stopped 25 shots.

“We got off to a good start with Haley’s early goal, and Caitlyn played really well in net” Rock County coach Darrel Moore said. “Our defense was solid all game, and offensively, we got the puck to the net.”

Bayreuther put the Fury up 1-0 at 2:17 of the first, and Robin Robles made it 2-0 at 12:14 of the first.
