Union Grove clinches title tie, other scores

Union Grove clinched at least a tie for the Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball championship by beating visiting Wilmot, 64-42, on Tuesday.


The Broncos are 10-1 in the conference and 16-1 overall.


Alyssa Thomas led Union Grove with 26 points to run her career total to 998. Thomas also had six steals.


Sarah Vozel led the Panthers (5-5, 9-8) with 14 points, while Kelli Hutchinson had 11.

The Comets’ Alana Cesarz, a UNLV recruit, scored 27 points, including a 12 for 13 performance from the line.
