— Becky Schneider won the floor exercise and the all-around to lead Janesville Craig’s gymnastics team to a third-place finish in Saturday’s Mukwonago Invitational.

The Cougars’ Sara Ennocenti and Schneider swept the top two places on the vault, with Ennocenti’s 9.55 score tying the school record. As a team, Craig set a school record with its 37.5 points in the event.

Schneider triumphed on the floor (9.35) and won the all-around (37.325).

“They’re starting to hit their stride, and we’re kind of building toward conference,” said Craig coach Jean Welch. “Overall, it was a pretty good performance for us.”

Welch added that the meet served as a good warmup and tuneup for sectionals because many of the teams are in the Cougars’ sectional.

The four-school co-op of Franklin, Muskego, Whitnall and Oak Creek won with 143.6 points, followed by Mukwonago/Kettle Moraine with 142.225, and Craig with 139.825.

Milton finished eighth in the nine-team meet. The Red Hawks were led by Carleigh Felstead, who was third on the bars and fourth in the all-around.

Craig next competes Saturday in the Big Eight Conference meet at Parker.
