Wilmot scored the final four points to down visiting Lake Geneva Badger, 50-47, in a pivotal Southern Lakes girls basketball game Friday night.


Badger High led 47-46, but junior guard’s Nikki Madriaga’s layup put the Panthers ahead. Sarah Vozel sealed the victory with two free throws.


Vozel finished with 19 points as the Panthers (9-7, 5-4) put the heat on Badger (10-7, 6-4) in the battle for second place. Kaytlyn Eidson and Karli Dorn each added 10 for Wilmot.


Lana Wieseman scored 14 points, and Emma Kopp added 10 for Badger.

n Delavan-Darien 48, Elkhorn 42—UNLV recruit Alana Cesarz scored a game-high 32 points in leading the host Comets to a Southern Lakes win over Elkhorn.


The Comets (8-8, 4-6) needed 14-9 advantage in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.


Cesarz made 15 of 18 free throws as the Comets went 17-for-23 from the line.


Allison White, a 5-7 senior guard, scored 15 points for Elkhorn (7-10, 4-5). She had all three of the Elks’ three-point goals.

n Union Grove 41, Westosha 39—Danielle Mutchie hit the winning basket at the buzzer for Union Grove, the state’s third-ranked Division 2 team.


The victory lifted the first-place Broncos to 9-0 in the Southern Lakes and 15-1 overall. Westosha Central fell 4-5 and 8-8.


Alyssa Thomas scored 13 points for Union Grove, and Muchie and teammate Natalie Zanella had 10 apiece. Faith Lois scored 12 for the Falcons.

Stephanie Rank led the Wolverines (3-13, 1-8) with 17 pints, and teammate Megan Jensen added 11. Cassi McCarthy scored 14 points for Burlington (5-11, 4-5).
