J.J Pankoske did an inside and outside job Friday night to give Brodhead High a hard-earned Rock Valley South boys basketball victory.


Walworth Big Foot had the Cardinals on the ropes after 14-2 first quarter, but Panoske scored all 36 of his points in the final three periods to help his team rally for 53-44 triumph at Brodhead.


Panoske, the conference scoring leader, got 13 points in the second quarter, but Big Foot still led, 26-21, at halftime. The Chiefs carried a 37-36 edge into the final period, despite Penoske’s 10-point third quarter.


The Cardinals finally took control in a 17-7 fourth quarter, during which Panoske made all six of his free throws, a pair of two-point goals and a three-pointer.


Panoske, a 6-9 senior, finished with five two-point goals and five three-pointers. The UW-Milwaukee recruit also made 11 of 13 free throws as Brodhead (10-7, 8-4) maintained its two-game grip on second place in the Rock Valley South.


Kennseth Walker led Big Foot (4-14, 2-10) with 14 points, and teammate Mike Kunes added 11 points.

n Clinton 79, Parkview 43—Ross Oldenberg scored 11 of his game-high 25 points in the second quarter as first-place Clinton (16-3, 11-2) rolled to a Rock Valley South victory.


Oldenberg also made three of Clinton’s four three-pointers.


Cody Risseeuw added 16 points, and Justin Langley had 12 for Clinton, which dominated the second and thirdquarters 45-19 to take control.


Kyle Woodworth scored eight of his game-high 12 points from the free-throw line for Parkview (1-14, 0-12), while Larry Kyser added 10 points.

n Turner 55, Palmyra-Eagle 44—Tevian Pinckney scored 21 points, and Turner (9-9, 7-6) pulled away late for a Rock Valley South win at Palmyra.


The Trojans broke a 12-12 after the first quarter to lead by three at halftime and five after three periods.


Sam Burns and Travis Appleby each scored 11 points for Turner. Shane Houk led the Panthers (4-13, 2-11) with 12.

n Jefferson 45, Whitewater 44—Max McGowan completed a topsy-turvy final 50 seconds with the game-winning three-pointer as Jefferson nipped visiting Whitewater in the Rock Valley North.


McGowan’s three-pointer came with 12 seconds left and the Eagles trailing 44-42. It was the senior guard’s third three-pointer of the game and gave him 12 points on the night.


The Eagles (8-10, 7-6) led the entire game—by as many as 13 points in the first half—until Whitewater’s Dawson Miller hit a layup with 50 seconds left to put the Whippets up 41-40.


Jefferson’s Matt Vogel responded with a layup with 40 seconds left to put Jefferson back on top, but Braden Voss made a three-pointer with 25 seconds left to give the Whippets a 44-42 lead and set up McGowan’s winning shot.


Whitewater could not get off an attempt in the final 12 seconds.


Voss had 13 points, and Miller added 10 for the Whippets (3-9, 5-12).

Tanner Plomb scored 27 points, including two three-pointers, to lead the Trojans. Nate Dodge added 23 points as East Troy went to 12-0 in the conference and 17-1 for the season.


Casey Moseley led Evansville (9-9, 6-7) with 11 points.

n McFarland 54, Edgerton 35—Tyler Wedel scored eight of 11 points and Adam Schluter scored all 10 of his in the first half to boost the Spartans to a 34-13 lead as they stayed in Rock Valley North title contention.


The victory lifted McFarland 12-1 in conference and 15-4 overall as the Spartans head into a critical game next Thursday at East Troy against the first-place Trojans.
