— The kindergarten enrollment period for students entering the School District of Janesville in fall 2011 will be Feb. 14-25.

If children are enrolled in a School District of Janesville Pre-School for Janesville (P4J) or Early Childhood program (EC), they do not need to be re-enrolled. All students should enroll at the New Student Enrollment Office at the Educational Services Center, 527 S. Franklin St.

Children must be age 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2011, to be eligible to enter kindergarten during the 2011-2012 school year. Times for kindergarten enrollment will be held based on residency for the following home school attendance areas.

-- 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 15 and 17, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Feb. 14, 16 and 18—Adams, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Kennedy and Lincoln elementary schools.

-- 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 22 and 24, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Feb. 21, 23 and 25—Madison, Monroe, Roosevelt, Van Buren, Washington and Wilson elementary schools.

If your residence falls in an option area, you may enroll at the office on any of the listed dates and times. The district will inform you of your home school after the kindergarten enrollment period ends. Those assignments will be based on space and enrollment.

Parents/guardians should bring these items to the office for enrollment: the child's birth certificate and immunization record, proof of residency (copy of lease or purchase agreement or the top portion of a utility bill that are not computer printouts) and parent/guardian photo identification.
