— The Janesville Bluebirds co-op boys hockey team rolled to an 8-1 victory over host Madison Memorial for a Big Eight Conference victory in a makeup game Monday.

After the Spartans tied the score 1-1 in the first period, the Bluebirds rattled off three straight goals for a 4-1 lead.

“Our defensemen moved the puck, and we played well as a defense,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “Keaton Eichman, Tom and Ron Lindgren really controlled the game.’’

Ron Lindgren and Cody Stettin scored two goals apiece for the Bluebirds (11-7-2, 7-4-1).
