Milton girls knock off Fort Atkinson

Milton High relied on senior leadership for a 52-39 victory over host Fort Atkinson in Badger South girls basketball Saturday.


Liz Eide, a senior center, scored nine of her game-high 18 points in the third quarter, when Milton (12-3, 8-1) rolled to a 21-5 advantage to overcome a 29-16 halftime deficit.


The Red Hawks also limited Fort to five points in the fourth to pull away.


Sophomore forward Morgan Blumer added 13 points for Milton.


Kaitlyn Hollman, a sophomore forward, scored 13 points to lead Fort (11-5, 4-5).

n Stoughton 57, Oregon 42—Kayla Rowley scored nine of her 19 points in a 16-8 first quarter that sent visiting Stoughton (5-12, 1-7) on the way to its first Badger South victory.


The Panthers (3-13, 2-6) trailed 28-17 at halftime and never got close than nine points the rest of the way.

Mackenzie Reese and Molly Meriggioli led the Crusaders with 12 points apiece.

n Monroe 49, Freeport 39—The Cheesemakers made seven of eight free throws in the fourth quarter to stave off the Pretzels’ rally in a nonconference game at Monroe..Kyleigh Sellnow went 6 for 6 from the line in the fourth quarter and finished with 17 points for Monroe. Kylee Ritschard added 11 points and Brooke McBain chipped in 10 for Monroe (8-5).
