Janesville Parker’s girls basketball team took control in the third quarter Saturday night on its way to a 41-26 Big Eight Conference victory at Sun Prairie.


Danielle Flood scored all 12 of her points in the second half for the Vikings (11-5 overall, 8-5 Big Eight) after both teams struggled to score in the first half.


The teams were tied 6-6 after the first quarter. Then, Parker managed just four second-quarter points while Sun Prairie went scoreless, giving the Vikings a 10-6 halftime advantage.


Parker picked up its offense in the third, outscoring the Cardinals 17-7. In the fourth, the Vikings connected on all eight of their free-throw attempts and their lead never was threatened.


Julia Dement added 10 points, and Ashley Hartwig had nine for Parker. Flood had two of the Vikings’ three three-pointers.


Parker made 12 of 18 free-throw attempts, while Sun Prairie was just 1 of 4 from the line.
