Justin Fowlkes scored 20 points, including hitting four of six free throws in the final quarter, as Delavan-Darien held off host Lake Geneva Badger, 44-43, for its first Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball victory Friday night.


Fowlkes had 14 points in the first half. Marcus McLin added 12 points, as the Comets improved to 1-8 in the Southern Lakes and 2-15 overall.


Bobby Lamparek scored 13, and Will Swanson added 12 for Badger (2-7, 2-13).

n Elkhorn 48, Westosha 37—Elkhorn went on a 17-6 run to end the first half, and then held visiting Westosha Central to one field goal in the third quarter to take control of the Southern Lakes game.


The Elks trailed, 15-6, when they went on the run to take a 23-21 halftime lead. The Elks built the lead to 34-24 entering the fourth quarter, and made eight of nine free throws down the stretch.


Kyle Hoskins, a 6-foot-6 senior, led Elkhorn with 15 points. Ryan Bowes added 13 points. The Elks are 4-5 in the conference and 8-9 overall.


The Falcons are 4-5, 7-8.

n Burlington 73, Union Grove 48—Burlington took a 23-12 lead and went on for an easy victory over visiting Union Grove in Southern Lakes action.


The Demons’ Tim Peterson and Travis Crayton each scored 15 points. Russ Robers added 11, and Gabe Chavarria and Eric Gerber each added 10 for league-leading Burlington (9-0 in the SLC, 13-2 overall).


Union Grove fell to 6-3, 11-6.

n Waterford 71, Wilmot 63—Waterford and Wilmot each hit nine three-pointers, but it was the Wolverines who came away with the Southern Lakes victory.


Joe Sturino led the long-range bombing for Waterford (7-2, 9-6) with 4 three-pointers and 18 points. Dustin Schindler added 17 points, while Zach Fisher had 12, and Tanner Hunsucker 10.


Wilmot’s Chris Nelson had four three-pointers and finished with 19 points. Ty Singleton added 13 points for Wilmot (2-7, 2-12).
