Sauk Prairie boys stop Evansville, other scores

Lucas Baier scored 10 of his 22 points in the first quarter to lead Sauk Prairie to a 47-30 victory over Evansville in a Barneveld tournament Tuesday.


The Blue Devills play Belleville in the tournament consolation game at 6 p.m. today. Barneveld plays Sauk Prairie in the championship game.


Baier helped the Eagles


(2-6) jump to a 16-6 lead in the first quarter.


Danny Walczak led the Blue Devils (0-9) with 13 points.

-- Ripon 44, Elkhorn 37—Elkhorn fell to 2-5 the season as the Elks fell to Ripon in the Waupun tournament.


The Elks’ Grace Ames and Emily Schahzinski each scored 11 points, but the Tigers overcame a 15-7 deficit after one quarter.


Senior Taylor Vander Plas led the Tiger charge with 32 points, including five three-pointers. Only three other Ripon players scored.


Ripon is 3-4.
