Janesville man arrested on heroin charges

— A Janesville man was arrested on two counts of delivery of heroin during an eight-hour police highway patrol effort Wednesday, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

According to the news release:

Dennis M. Hayes, 41, Janesville, was arrested on delivery of heroin charges.

Police focused on highway safety and the transportation of illegal drugs into Janesville on Highway 51/Center Avenue between the Highway 11 bypass and the Five Points intersection.

Police made 69 traffic violation stops where 99 warnings and 56 traffic citations were issued.

Thirteen people on probation through the state Department of Corrections were contacted resulting in four people being held for probation violations. Officers also seized a minimal amount of marijuana.

Janesville police worked with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Corrections-Probation/Parole and Milton Police Department during the effort.
