Davis’ 29 points propel Warhawks
SAN ANTONIO UW-Whitewater blew past Willamette, 89-69, in the NIT Tournament opener Tuesday here at Trinity University.
The Warhawks are 9-1 overall.
Whitewater’s Chris Davis scored a game-high 29 points to lead four Warhawks in double figures.
Cody Odegaard scored 14 points, Luke Noble added 13 and Elkhorn High graduate Eric Bryson chipped in 11.
The Warhawks made 19 of 31 (61 percent) baskets in the first half to take a 47-28 lead.
Whitewater faces Whitworth University at 4 p.m. today to conclude the tournament.
