Madison La Follette turns back Stoughton, other scores

— Emily Baltisberger scored 15 of her game-high 17 points in the second to lead Madison La Follette to a 50-39 victory Monday in nonconference girls basketball.

The Vikings held a 22-21 lead at the half, but the Lancers rolled to a 29-17 second half advantage, including a 14-7 edge in the fourth quarter, to seal the victory.


Tessa Mersberger scored 13 points for Stoughton (2-4).

Lakeside Lutheran rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Waterloo, 67-56, Monday in a nonconference Capitol Conference crossover boys basketball game.


Lakeside is 3-2 overall, and Waterloo is 2-5.


Jeff Klug scored 11 of his 15 points and Jason Eternick scored seven of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Warriors to a 28-18 edge and the victory.


Caleb Gartner scored 15 points to share team scoring honors with Klug. Jacob Schneider added 12 points for Lakeside.
