UW-Stevens Point routs UW-Whitewater women

— UW-Whitewater paid for a poor first half with a 71-50 defeat Wednesday to undefeated UW-Stevens Point in WIAC women's basketball.

The Warhawks are 1-3 in the WIAC and 6-4 overall. Ninth-ranked Stevens Point is 3-0 in the WIAC and 9-0 overall. The Pointers have won their last five games against the Warhawks.

Whitewater made just six of 27 field goal attempts (22 percent) in the first half and trailed Point, 38-18.

Emily Bestor scored 17 points for Whitewater, making five of eight three-point baskets. Point's Sam Barber scored 17 points to share high-scoring honors.
