Stute named to replace Thompson

— The Rock County Board of Supervisors' Ag and Extension committee appointed a new department head at its Wednesday meeting.

Crops and Soils Agent Jim Stute will take over as department head in January 2012.

Stute, who has been with the Rock County Extension office since 2003, will replace Randy Thompson.

Thompson, who is also the dairy and livestock agent, has been with Rock County Extension since 1990 and has been department head since 1993. He will retire in February.
