— The Janesville Jets were 13 seconds away Friday night from taking over sole possession of first place in the NAHL’s Midwest Division.

Unfortunately for the Jets, Joe Kalisz and the St. Louis Bandits spoiled the opportunity.

Kalisz scored with 13 seconds left to play in regulation then won it for the Bandits in the shootout with the winning goal as St. Louis rallied for a 2-1 win at the Janesville Ice Arena.

Janesville took a 1-0 lead in the second period on Bryan Kronberger’s goal off an assist from Jake Horton, but Kalisz tied at 19:47 of the third.

The Jets failed to convert on three attempts in the shootout, while the Bandits converted on three of four.

Brock Kautz had 28 saves for Janesville.
