Elkhorn turns back Delavan-Darien

Danny Dessent and Brent Newman each scored 17 points to lead Elkhorn to a Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball victory Thursday night.


Dessent directed the Elks’ offense in a 69-43 victory at Delavan, while Newman worked the inside. Elkhorn improved to 3-1 overall, and 1-1 in the conference.


Sophomore guard Stephen Rodriguez led the Comets with 13 points, while Bryce Hembrook added 12. Delavan-Darien made just 14 of 76 shots.
