Janesville Parker runs league record to 4-0
Janesville Parker is making its presence felt in Big Eight Conference girls golf.
Micayla Richards shot an 84 to lead the Vikings to a double-dual meet over Madison West and Madison Memorial on Tuesday afternoon at Odana Hills.
The Vikings finished with a 351 total, which was seven strokes better than Madison West and 17 strokes better than Memorial.
The victories put the Vikings at 4-0 in the conference.
“This was an outstanding day for us,” said Parker coach Mary Ross.
It was led by Richards, a sophomore who had her lowest competitive round in the Big Eight. Taylor Utzig had an 89.
“I’m excited about their performance,” Ross said of the team. “They focused well and managed the course well. It was an unfamiliar course for some of our players.
“I’m extremely pleased.”
The Vikings will be off until Thursday, Sept. 8, when they take on La Follette and East at Monona.
