— Police say a Janesville woman led them on a seven-mile chase before she was arrested on a charge of fifth-offense drunken driving Sunday night.

Officer Jimmy Holford reported trying to stop a vehicle for driving without headlights at 11:52 p.m. Sunday at Center Avenue and Delavan Drive. The Chevy Trailblazer fled east on Delavan Drive, running stop signs and traffic lights, Sgt. Dean Sukus said.

The vehicle went east on Highway 14, made a U-turn and drove over stop sticks deployed by officers on Highway 14 at Case Drive. The front tires deflated, but the vehicle continued east on County A before the driver lost control and the vehicle stopped in the ditch east of Touson Drive, Sukus said.

Lindsay K. McCarthy, 28, of 68 S. Huron St., Janesville, was arrested on charges of fifth-offense drunken driving, fleeing an officer, resisting an officer and probation violation and three warrants, including one for a fourth-offense drunken driving, Sukus said.

McCarthy was cited for driving after revocation and failure to install an ignition interlock device, he said.
