— Two women and one man are finalists for the top job at UW-Rock County, according to a news release from the University of Wisconsin Colleges.

Two of the finalists, Donna Hilton Stewart and Carmen R. Wilson, are also finalists for the same job at UW-Fox Valley, Menasha.

Applicants for these jobs are allowed to indicate that they want to be considered for more than one opening and often do, said Teri Venker, executive director for university relations for the UW Colleges.

The finalists are:

-- James E. Sayer, who served as dean of Wright State University's Lake Campus from 2007-10.

Sayer previously was chairman of Wright State's department of communications. He earned a doctorate in speech at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, a master's degree in speech at the University of Arizona and a bachelor's degree in history at Northern Arizona University.

-- Stewart, the interim dean in the College of Management at UW-Stout. Stewart previously was the associate dean from 2009-11.

Stewart earned a doctorate in vocational education/marketing emphasis from the University of Minnesota. Her master's degree in business administration/operations management and bachelor's degree in business administration/business finance are from UW-Whitewater.

-- Wilson, the chief of staff and affirmative action officer at UW-La Crosse. She previously was UW-La Crosse's assessment coordinator from 2004-08 and faculty senate chair from 2005-08.

Wilson earned a doctorate and master's degree in counseling psychology and her bachelor's degree in psychology at Iowa State University.

Campus visits will be scheduled for each finalist in September, when they will meet faculty, staff, students and community members. The schedule will be posted on the UW-Rock website.

A new dean/CEO is expected to be named in October.

The new dean will replace Diane Pillard, who retired in June. Kim Kostka serves as interim CEO/dean.
