Bees turn back Beloit Snappers
BELOIT The Beloit Snappers produced 10 hits, but it wasn’t enough in a 6-1 loss Wednesday to the Burlington Bees in Midwest League baseball.
The Snappers’ Jario Perez, Adam Bryant and Daniel Ortiz each doubled, but only Ortiz’s two-bagger produced a run in the ninth inning.
Beloit stranded eight base runners and was 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Beloit starter A.J. Achter
(4-7) allowed six runs on seven hits though six innings to take the loss. Three Burlington pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts.
