Janesville's wastewater treatment plant could increase energy production

The City of Janesville may soon be taking on high strength waste from other communities and manufactures.

City Utility Director Dan Lynch says the bio based waste could help produce more electricity at the wastewater treatment plant, as well as, be converted to fuel for city vehicles. The plant has been using turbines to convert methane gas to electricity since the 1930's.
