-- CHRISTOPHER C. MYERS, 38, of 426 Center Ave., Janesville, at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday at his residence on a charge of substantial battery with intent to cause bodily harm. He is accused of punching a man in the face.
-- A 17-YEAR-OLD JANESVILLE BOY at 4:40 a.m. Thursday at Arbor Drive and Racine Street, Janesville, on charges of intentionally taking and driving a motor vehicle and theft.
-- BRETT C. REICHARD, 45, of 773 S. Main St., Janesville, at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at home on charges of strangulation and battery.
-- FELONY THEFT of copper wire from an Alliant substation at 2008 N. Harmony Town Hall Road, Janesville, reported Aug. 8. A chain-link fence was cut and 750 feet of copper wire, valued at $3,000, was taken. Similar thefts were reported at substations at 3322 Mount Zion Ave. and 1907 Randolph Road, Janesville, where a combined 560 feet of wire, valued at $2,240, was taken.
-- MINIVAN THEFT at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday in the Jacobs Mobile Home Park, Janesville. The Plymouth Voyager was found abandoned at Main and Racine streets, Janesville. Police learned of the theft while investigating other vehicle thefts at the mobile home park.
-- CAR THEFT from the 5400 block of North County F, Janesville, on Saturday night or Sunday morning. The car was recovered when a sheriff’s deputy spotted it traveling north on Highway 51 at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, at speeds exceeding 100 mph. A chase ensued. The driver tried to turn onto Kidder Road and went off the road. A passenger fled into a cornfield and was later arrested on a probation hold and obstructing. The man suspected of stealing the car is being sought.
-- CENTER AVENUE AT JOLIET STREET, JANESVILLE, at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday. A car driven by Jessica L. Connell, 25, of 1638 Center Ave., Janesville, hit a bicycle ridden by Alvin J. Haythorn, 63, of 832 Kellogg Ave., Janesville. Connell was turning right from Joliet onto Center on a red light as Haythorn approached northbound on Center. Haythorn was cited for failing to stop before the crosswalk while turning on a red light. Haythorn was treated and released at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.
